Becel was born in Haiti, and he began drawing at the tender age of five, becoming intrigued by the work of renowned artists. His earlier education in architecture provided him with a profound understanding of unity achieved through the consistent use of lines, color, materials, and texture in a design.

In 1998, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Product Design Engineering Technology from Ferris State University, and in 2001, he earned an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.

​

His passion for the creative arts inspired him to pursue a career in automotive design engineering. After retiring from the automobile industry, Becel redirected his time to what he was most enthusiastic about, his artwork.

​

After years of observation, it was time to return to his beloved art. His current work focuses on human expressions and the moods of nature. His artwork is a reflection on life and how it frames human experience. Becel’s inspiration comes from the memories of his native land as well as his everyday observation of life all over. His religious background and his passion for jazz are also sources of inspiration.

Becel’s work has been shown in various art shows. His work can be found in private collections of patrons with discerning taste from all over the world.
